You see this lady? Pattie Mallette. She is one of my inspirations. Yes, she is Justin Bieber’s mom, but she’s more than that.
You might not know her past, so I’ll tell you. It’s sad. When she was 5 to about 10 years old, she was sexually abused. Her biological father died when she was 3. Her mom remarried. Her sister died in a car accident when she was 5. When she was 14, she started getting into drugs, stealing things, just being a bad teenager. She left her house when she was 15 because she didn’t get along with her parents. She lived with about 4 boys for a few years and just got into a bunch of trouble like partying, skipping school, and doing drugs. At the age of 17, she decided she couldn’t keep her past bottled up anymore, so she decided to commit suicide. She wanted to find a way to die as fast as she could, so she went to a busy street.. she stepped in front of a truck and it turned down a side street before it could hit her. She ended up in the hospital for commiting suicide.
[I didn’t make this up. You can find her interview on YouTube.]
While she was in the hospital, a youth pastor came by to talk to her about God.
“You know, you try to kill yourself. You don’t even wanna live anymore. You don’t want your life.. God created you with a plan and a purpose. What do you have to lose by giving God a chance to see what his plan is for you? What he can do for you..” is what the youth pastor said.
She didn’t think God was real, but decided to give him a chance. What did she have to lose? Nothing.
She allowed God into her life, and he forgave her of her sins.
At the age of about 18, she got pregnant with Justin. She went back to partying and stopped going to church as much. But then, God got her back on track again and she stopped doing those things. God blessed her with this amazing little boy, Justin Bieber. Yes, they were under the poverty line for awhile, but God did have a plan and purpose for her; her son would one day be the biggest superstar on the planet and they would be rich.
So, all I’m trying to say is that God has a plan for your life. Don’t end it just because you think you can’t do this anymore. You can. Give it to God, give all your troubles to God and he will deal with them, I promise. Trust and have faith in God and good things will come your way.
Pattie inspires me to just live life to its fullest and just her story, it means so much to me. It may be “just another story” for you, but for me it’s not. It’s so inspiring and since she’s had such a rough past, it’s amazing how God can just turn that all around.
Maybe you’ve had a bad past, but with God in your life, your future will be better.
